Cory Deal was a lovely person. He shone so brightly in so many ways, and he was a wonderful part of our Sanger & Eby family. At any given time, you could ask Cory how he was doing and almost unfailingly, he would respond with a smile and say “I’m living the dream.” He was calm in the face of chaos, and helped others be that way as well. He loved what he did, and he was great at it.
He was so much more than our project manager. He embodied our core value of client obsession. He worked closely with our clients, with their goals, needs and objectives always at the front of his mind – thinking how we could innovate and improve. How we could deliver stronger results. How we could make their day. He loved technology, and had smart suggestions for how to make something work differently. He loved to write. When he was interviewing with our Sanger & Eby team, he mentioned he was writing a book, simply for the love of doing it. Cory was always ready to step in and help make something amazing, always willing to share his knowledge and expertise to help our team, and always did it with a smile.
His Sanger & Eby words were sensitive and erudite (to be fair, we had to look that one up). And he was both. And he was so many more. Engaged. Surprising. Energetic. Salient. Smart. Efficient. Savvy.
On Sunday, Cory passed away unexpectedly.
He was such a central part of our team. His desk was located in the middle of our wide open, collaborative workspace. This morning, it’s empty. And so are our hearts. His infamous laugh which was contagious, now but a memory.
We miss you, Cory, and we always will.
